Via Célere and the Polytechnic University of Valencia are committed to bringing innovation in building to the classroom

  • The Vía Célere Innovation Company Classroom will train students from the ETS of Building Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in innovative subjects in the sector such as BIM, Industrialization and LPS.

Vía Célere, specializing in the development, investment and management of real estate assets, signed an agreement today with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) to promote innovation within the building sector through a company training classroom attached to the Technical School of Building Engineering of the UPV.

This collaboration, which will start from the next academic year 2019-2020, will offer students who register in the company’s classroom technical training in topics such as BIM (Building Information Modelling) allowing a building to be modelled virtually and anticipating possible errors in the project phase, industrialization in the building, as a modular production system for different components of the home and LPS (Last Planner System) as a methodology that optimizes deadlines and resources for the execution of a construction.

In addition, the students of the Vía Célere classroom will have the opportunity to visit future Vía Célere developments in the Valencian Community to learn, first hand, how these innovations are applied in the construction of residential buildings and how they lead to more agile and more sustainable construction, generating less waste and greater energy savings.

“We believe that it is our responsibility, as a leading company in innovation within the residential sector, to share our knowledge with future professionals and to make them aware of the importance of constantly developing new concepts and processes. This way we will make sure that the real estate sector continues its positive evolution to become an example of an area of modern, sustainable and innovative activity”, said Juan Antonio Gómez-Pintado, President of Vía Célere.

This initiative, which joins the one the company already launched in 2016 with the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and that Vía Célere hopes to replicate in new public universities in Spain, is part of the company’s commitment in terms of innovation and training. “To advance towards a building model that favours the development of more sustainable cities, we need a more professionalized sector where innovation is present, and for that reason we bring our know-how to more than 100 students every year who are about to enter the labour market”, stated Carlos Valdés, responsible for the Vía Célere Foundation, when signing the agreement this morning.
