Vía Célere Foundation, Arquitectura sin Fronteras and Fundación Valora implement a program to adapt vulnerable homes

  • The project, called Mejoramos en Casa, seeks workable housing adaptation for people for those who are socially vulnerable
  • The promoters have released a video about the first fitting out of this initiative, which could inspire more entities in the real estate and construction sector to get involved in social issues

Madrid, February 15, 2018.- The Vía Célere Foundation, together with Arquitectura sin Fronteras, the Valora Foundation and the selfless commitment of several of Vía Célere’s regular collaborators, has implemented Mejoramos en Casa, a program for the functional adaptation of housing for people in situations of social vulnerability.

Spain is one of the European countries where the levels of inequality have worsened in recent years, and where people living in poverty often occupy homes that are not in an adequate state, which impacts on their quality of life and increases their risk of social exclusion.

As a response to this problem, the initiative “Mejoramos en Casa” evaluates the housing conditions of people in situations of social vulnerability to make the necessary improvements that guarantee that the house complies with the adequate standards and is adapted to the specific needs of its occupants.

After carrying out the initial rehabilitation of a house within this project, the Vía Célere Foundation, Arquitectura sin Fronteras and Fundación Valora have launched a video sharing the homeowners story, which could inspire more companies and entities in the real estate and construction sector, to become involved in those social priorities of general interest linked to their activity.
