José Ignacio Morales Plaza, new Chief Financial Officer at Vía Célere

  • The company’s new CFO comes from SENER Grupo de Ingeniería, where he worked as Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer.

Vía Célere, real estate developer specializing in the development, investment and management of residential assets, has appointed José Ignacio Morales Plaza as its new Chief Financial Officer. José Ignacio has a PhD in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid, an MBA from IESE Business School and a Certificate in Strategy & Scenario Planning from the University of Oxford.

Vía Célere’s new CFO comes to the company after almost thirteen years at SENER Grupo de Ingeniería. During this time, José Ignacio held the positions of Corporate Chief Finance Officer and, most recently, Chief Strategy, Corporate Development & Affiliates Officer. Previously, he held different positions of responsibility in companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, F. Hoffman-La Roche or BBVA.

Apart from this, José Ignacio Morales Plaza is an associate professor at several business schools (Instituto de Empresa, CUNEF, Club Español de la Energía, etc.) where he provides bilingual teaching in several subjects in the field of financial analysis, corporate, structural finance and valuation.

In addition, he is a member of the Management and Academic Committee of CIIA® (Certified International Investment Analyst) and Member of the Certifying Board of CEVE® (Certificate of Expert in Business Valuation) and of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (IEAF).

After the acquisition of Aelca’s assets, which will become effective at the end of December,  Via Célere became the largest residential real estate developer in Spain, with a volume of asset of €2,203 million. This way, Vía Célere now holds the leadership of the Spanish residential market in terms of volume of assets, which it already held in the areas of innovation and sustainability.
