The Real Estate Sector plays a match for social integration

Yesterday, Sunday 10 June, the second Inclusive Solidarity Football Tournament of the Real Estate Sector was held. The event was organized by the Vía Célere Foundation, ASPRIMA and Down Madrid.

The event brought together 21 companies in the sector to compete with each other and raise funds for the sports programmes of Down Madrid. In total, more than €21,000 was raised.

In addition, each of the companies’ teams had one player with Down Syndrome, which made the tournament an inclusive day in which the entire sector came together in favour of the integration of people with intellectual disabilities in society.

The team that won the tournament in the end was Tinsa. However, the real winners were the boys and girls with Down syndrome and the employees of the companies, who were able to enjoy a day of sports, integration and solidarity.

“From ASPRIMA we are working to promote greater social awareness among the companies that make up the real estate industry. In this second edition of the tournament we managed to involve more companies, collecting more than €21,000 that will go towards projects of the Down Madrid Foundation but, above all, we managed to make companies aware of social inclusion” said Juan Antonio Gómez-Pintado, President of ASPRIMA and President of Vía Célere.

Carlos Valdés, Director of the Vía Célere Foundation highlighted that  “the social inclusion of people with disabilities is everyone’s responsibility and this initiative is a sign of the growing awareness of the real estate sector to engage with society”.

“One of the main tools for the real inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities is awareness, for this reason we transmit to both our young people with Down syndrome and the rest of society, values such as teamwork, effort and overcoming. This tournament is an innovative initiative that positions the real estate sector as an agent of social change turning around corporate social responsibility, demonstrating its support to continue working for the improvement of the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities” said Elena Escalona Lara, CEO of Down Madrid.
